Jeffrey L. Hays
Jeffrey Hays conceived of and co-founded RLA Insurance Intermediaries with Chris Skaletsky in the spring of 2010. Mr. Hays focuses on placing complex professional liability accounts, in addition to serving as the company’s President. He possesses a wealth of experience in placing coverage for complex public and private clients.
Mr. Hays began his insurance career in 2001 as an underwriter at Lexington Insurance in Boston, and AIG Lloyd’s box in London, before joining CRC Insurance Services in 2006 as a wholesale professional liability producer.
Mr. Hays holds a RPLU designation and received his B.S. in Business Administration from Babson College. Mr. Hays enjoys spending time with his wife and three children as well as playing hockey, gardening and world travel.
Chris D. Skaletsky
Chief Operational Officer
Chris Skaletsky co-founded RLA Insurance Intermediaries with Jeffrey Hays in the spring of 2010. RLA has since grown to include 42 associates and offices in 5 states. Mr. Skaletsky focuses on placing complex casualty accounts, in addition to serving as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. He possesses deep experience in structuring both primary and excess coverage towers for challenging clients.
Mr. Skaletsky began his insurance career in 2002 as a primary/excess underwriter at Lexington Insurance in Boston, before joining McAuley, Woods & Associates in 2004 as a wholesale casualty producer.
Mr. Skaletsky holds a CRIS designations and received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. An avid golfer, he resides in West Palm Beach, Florida with his wife and two children.
Daniel J. O’Connell
Chief Financial Officer
Daniel O’Connell has been the Chief Financial Officer of RLA Insurance Intermediaries since the spring of 2010.
Mr. O’Connell began his insurance career in 1998 as a finance team leader in John Hancock Life Insurance Company’s demutualization and initial public offering. Mr. O’Connell also led efforts to improve GAAP reporting for the Investments Division of Liberty Mutual Insurance Company as part of a company-wide effort to externally report financial results on a quarterly basis.
Mr. O’Connell is an attorney and a certified public accountant in Massachusetts, he received his J.D. from Suffolk University and his B.S. in Accounting from Babson College. Mr. O’Connell enjoys playing hockey and hiking with his family. He resides in Belmont, Massachusetts with his wife, three children and his dog Leroy.
